Flow studio

Flow Studio allows you to configure multiple Organization Endpoints in any combination of one-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-one, or even many-to-many.

In Flow Studio, the Source Organization (Left) and the Target Organization (Right) represent the organizations you try to connect.

  1. Click the Flows tab.
  2. Click the flow you want to configure, which takes you directly to Flow Studio.
  3. In the Sources pane, click + ADD FLOW ENDPOINT.
  4. Select the endpoint you want, and click Add Flow Endpoint.
  5. Repeat this step for the Target Endpoint.
tip

You can configure Flows only if they are subscribed to by one or more Organizations.

After adding the endpoints in the appropriate panes, configure the file location path.

  • External endpoints are established when MFT is connecting to an external server using credentials provided by the user.
  • MFT Server endpoints are established when MFT is acting as a server for the user. MFT generates a unique URL to connect to when the Endpoint is created for the Organization. If you’re using an MFT Server Endpoint, you’ll need to create a user to access your MFT server.

In the Sources pane for an External Endpoint, you need to configure each setting: Configuration, Scheduling, Process Options, Trigger Files, Rename, and Alerts. in the Flow Endpoint Editor. You can follow the same steps under Targets pane.

note

There are differences in the Flow Endpoint Editor options between an External endpoint and an MFT Server endpoint.

Actions option

Within Flow Studio, each Flow Endpoint has an Actions column that provides quick access to multiple functions associated with the Flow Endpoint.

  • Edit Flow Endpoint Settings: Takes you into the Flow Endpoint Editor.

  • Run Flow Endpoint Now: Allows you to trigger that Flow Endpoint instead of waiting for the next scheduled run.

  • Upload Files: Allows manual HTTPS uploads into that Flow Endpoint.

  • Embed Upload Component: Allows the creation of a File upload widget that can be embedded in an external website, allowing users to send the files to the Flow Endpoint.

  • Configure Endpoint: Takes you back to the Endpoint configuration page.

  • Remove Flow Endpoint: Removes the Flow Endpoint from Flow Studio
